Building a Visual Language for Digital Banking

I created a visual language for a digital banking platform, led its rollout across mobile and web, and applied it to onboarding, accounts, cards and crypto concepts. I also developed the illustration style and created all the illustrations Lead Product Designer Core banking work: late 2022–2024 New-brand extension: 2026

Defining the Visual Direction

I created two visual directions from scratch. The selected direction was friendlier and less tech-driven, aimed at a broader audience. I rolled it out in stages, starting with typography and then adding color, components and illustrations

Guiding the Visual Transition

I defined the strategy and implementation sequence for moving mobile and web to the new visual language, coordinating with engineering. I designed the UI components for the new mobile library, while another product designer adapted the web screens under my visual direction. Existing banking flows remained intact

Designing KYC and KYB Onboarding

I designed the mobile KYC flow end to end. For web KYB, another product designer created all the screens under my guidance. I shaped the navigation, reviewed every screen across multiple iterations and aligned design decisions with product stakeholders

Card Ordering and Crypto Concepts

I explored automated card ordering, crypto accounts and transfers within the existing banking product. The shipped card-ordering solution was reduced to a simple request, without the full automated flow. The crypto concepts were not launched

KYB Restyle and Crypto Card Concept

In 2026, I restyled the existing KYB flow for a new crypto brand in one week. The initial brand concept included only a few screens, so I refined components and expanded the design library without changing the flow. I documented all changes for frontend developers. I also designed a crypto card app concept in the same visual style

Project Summary

I created the original visual language and illustrations for mobile and web banking from scratch. My role combined hands-on product design with design guidance across banking flows and product concepts. For the new crypto brand, I worked within its existing visual style, expanding the design library for KYB and designing a crypto card app concept
